What makes Birth And Beyond Care different from other in-home care agencies?

At Birth And Beyond Care, we care for the whole person by providing the highest level of in-home care possible under a collaboratively developed, integrated plan of care unique to each individual. Traditional home care agencies focus on providing personal care services such as assistance with eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, transferring, continence care, etc. We offer all of these services as well; however, our holistic care philosophy considers not only the activities of daily living, but also the physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing of our clients. We do not view clients as passive recipients of traditional home care. Instead, we engage clients and support them in achieving fullness in their lives by offering therapeutic life enrichment activities such as art and music therapy, literature or newspaper/magazine reading, stimulating games, storytelling, life journaling, range of motion exercises, and more. In addition, through our professional partner affiliations, we also chair yoga, massage & aromatherapy, and acupuncture services for an enriched life experience.

Does your home care agency offer any family support resources?

Yes, we offer a number of family support resources to help family learn more about their loved ones’ care needs as well as to help family members who live at a distance stay involved in their loved one’s care. Visit our Technology page to learn more. Our blog is also full of home care and aging care resources that families will find useful.

What are the advantages of home care?

In-home care and wellness services can help older adults, disabled individuals, and anyone in need of assistance at home live independently in the comfort of their own homes, where they are most in touch with who they are. As a non-medical and home health care agency, Birth And Beyond Care provides assistance with daily activities so that our clients can continue to enjoy the comfort and security of home while maintaining their nearby community network.

What kind of training do your caregivers receive?

When hiring and training our caregivers, we take a holistic approach as well. We employ caregivers who have heart and are passionate about serving others, who value physical wellness and its connection to intellectual and emotional wellness, and who are dedicated to continuing to learn about new and better ways to provide care, and seek education for their own personal development. All of our caregivers are supervised by a registered nurse and are randomly spot-checked by management while they are on assignment. We also require that all of our caregivers attend regularly scheduled classroom trainings at our corporate office location led by our nurse supervisor. To supplement our structured classroom training, we also provide a robust suite of online self-study caregiver trainings offered in partnership with a leading, nationally recognized senior care e-learning institute.
